About the Writer

The Writer

Hi, I’m Christie Drozdowski. Someday my pen name is going to be Christianna Drozdova. Don’t steal it. I’m twenty four and live in the Blue Ridge Mountains of Western North Carolina.

The purpose of this writing blog is to keep me working on the skill I developed in college. I have posted various pieces and genres in hopes of receiving feedback from both my writing peers and mentors. Feel free to comment liberally.I would like to share with you something Lois Lowry, author of THE GIVER, wrote to me once when I emailed her for advice:

“I think young people like you who love to write are probably doing all the right things that will help you become a professional writer. The hardest thing is waiting…because writers need to experience a lot, to live life, before they are able to write with maturity and experience. So write, read, study, probably major in literature in college. Travel, observe, learn about all sorts of people, and experience life.”

She’s right, of course. So, my plan is to live.

Reading the Scroll

Rhondelough exists in the mind of a young lady who is destined for Great Things. It is a place of wonder and imagination, of magic, heart, and the pursuit of knowledge. These entries are only excerpts from the scroll which Lady C holds so fondly and deeply in her heart. They are precious to her, but she can not keep them locked up high in the castle tower; she wants to share them with you. So, dear reader, take care as you wander to and fro in fair Rhondelough, for you will not know when some magic falls upon you if you so easily dismiss it.
